Where story meets pen and paper

Meet Ann Self
Ann Self is a writer, author, and speaker living in Cashiers, North Carolina, a bucolic village in the Blue Ridge mountains. She began her professional career as a journalist in the field of advertising and public relations. For 20 years she served ministry appointments in North Georgia and Western North Carolina as an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church. She is drawn to stories and believes in the power of narrative to shape lives and create relationships.
She recently retired after serving as Executive Director of The Village Green of Cashiers, a privately conserved 13-acre park space. “For nearly 10 years, I witnessed the ways people from diverse backgrounds and interests find rest, recreation, and renewal in a central shared community gathering place.”
Her experience with The Village Green led her to write the children’s book “Cashiers, Come Play With Me.” She is currently writing freelance articles and working on her next project.
